I have quite a few older gauges in stock, so decided to compare them and note their similarities in wiring, size, mounting. With this info, you may be able to adapt a different gauge to replace your damaged/discontinued gauge. As of now, I’ve compared models up to 2000 and plan to add newer soon!
A note about the 1997 & up gauges… from the mid 90’s on, Sea Doo started making the electrical system & MPEM more complicated and started giving more info to the rider. Therefore, the LCD gauges do more and start to be harder to adapt to different models.
The following info is to help with choosing the right gauge for your ski. Always be careful when wiring a gauge not meant for the model you’re installing it on. Damage to expensive parts can result from wiring errors!

One more note…from looking at the wiring diagrams of most newer skis, most of the time the fuel, oil, tach, and speedo plug into the mpem and their respective sensors do as well. I would guess Sea Doo uses the MPEM as a junction point only and the related sensors could actually just be connected directly to the gauges if needed.
Notes on Fuel Gauges
From looking at most all gauges and also wiring diagrams for models 1990 through 1994 and all models except XP/GTX in 1995, I’ve seen they all use the same 8 wires and all have same colors that go to power, ground, fuel sender, oil level sender and power to tach/speedo.
The early gauges mounted with a “u” bracket then in 1993 switched to the threaded ring mounting. The main difference I noted when comparing most all of them was differing wire lengths.
The oil sensor is just an on/off switch and works the same on all years (to 95 checked so far). The fuel baffle outputs resistance from 0 ohm to approx 90 ohms on all years (to 95 checked so far). Therefore, any fuel gauge should be interchangeable on 1990-1995 (exc. 1995 XP & GTX LCD) with only possibly slight wire length mods and possibly terminal location in the 6 prong plug.
Most appear to use a 5 wire setup. Two wires receive power, two wires are power out to the next gauge in series, and the last goes to the speed sensor. Only difference may be mounting, wire length, and wire locations in the plugs. As far as I know, all read 0 to 60mph.
If a speedo has three wires, it still should work the same as the 5 wire, just doesn’t have power out to the next gauge.
Most older models appear to use a 3 wire setup. Two wires receive power from the fuel or LCD gauge and the third (YL/RD) goes to the magneto. Only difference may be mounting, wire length, and wire locations in the plugs. As far as I know, all read 0 to 8000rpm.
Most newer models use a 5 wire setup and are in series with the fuel and/or tach and/or speedo. Two wires receive power, two wires are power out to the next gauge in series, and the last goes to the magneto (or MPEM). On gauges with the same number of wires but different part numbers, the only difference may be gauge face, wire length, and wire locations in the plugs.
From what I see, they all use the same sensors (fuel/oil/temp) as the non-LCD 1990-1996 models. All 1995/1996 LCD equipped skis are interchangeable and the gauge should also work properly on earlier non-LCD years if desired.
From what I see, most all use the same sensors (fuel/oil/temp/compass/air temp/etc.). The GTX uses a LCD with the most functions, so it should be compatible with other models. The only thing you might need to do is leave some plugs disconnected/capped for missing sensors. Also note that different LCD part numbers may have the wires in different positions on the plugs, so that would have to be corrected for your model. Also, the RFI skis appear to need a RFI LCD Gauge. I believe it monitors the fuel injection.
