Sea Doo Specialized Tool Rentals

For a while now, I’ve considered offering an on-line tool rental program so Sea Doo owners wouldn’t have to spend a bundle on tools they may only need once! Also offered will be “tool packages” which are a group of tools needed for a certain repair (ex. Pump Rebuild). Also included will be free info on how to do the repair (if I have it).

The way I figured the rental charge for the packages listed below is usually approximately 10% of the replacement cost for the particular tool(s). At this time, I’ll only do rentals with persons in the Continental US. Also, if you don’t see a tool listed, let me know and I’ll add it to the page!

After giving it quite a bit of thought, below is how the program works:

  1. You e-mail me and let me know you’re interested in renting a particular tool or tool combo.
  2. I’ll then send you a PayPal request for a deposit amount (you also can pay the deposit by mailed money order or a WalMart instant money order if desired). The deposit amount is the approximate retail replacement cost of the tool(s) unless it’s a discontinued item. In that case, the deposit is a value I set by what I consider an acceptable amount to be without it and possibly not ever replace.
  3. Once you have paid the deposit, I’ll send out the tool(s) via Priority Std ($4.05), Priority Flat Rate ($8.10) or FedEx Ground depending on weight/size.
  4. You’ll have 7 days from the day you receive tool (verified by tracking) to have the tool back to me in the same condition as sent. If late, I charge a late fee of 20% of the rental fee per day.
  5. Once I have the tool(s) back here, I’ll calculate the total due with any late fees (if applicable) and then refund your original PayPal deposit payment minus the total rental fee.
  6. I’m not into selling my tools and don’t do extended rentals. If the tool(s) aren’t back to me 14 days from when you originally received the tool(s), you’re telling me you’ve decided to consider the tool yours and I’ll keep the deposit so I can order more tools. The only exception to this would be if within 14 days, you provided tracking info that would let me know it’s on the way.

TOOLS AVAILABLE FOR RENT

SEA DOO JETPUMP REBUILD TOOLS PKG.
Included in this rental is the special tools needed when rebuilding a 140 or 155mm jetpump (need to know which to supply proper tools and instructions). A copy of any needed instructions will also be included.
Note that you need an arbor press to do this repair. If you don’t have access to one, I also rebuild pumps often so contact me for pricing info.

SEA DOO 947 DI SPECIAL TOOLS PKG.
Included in this rental is the special tools needed when repairing a 947 DI. A copy of any needed instructions will also be included.

SEA DOO 947 DI FUEL SYSTEM TEST PKG.
Included in this rental is the special tools needed to test the fuel system on the 947 DI. A copy of test instructions will also be included.

SEA DOO 787 RFI FUEL SYSTEM TEST GAUGE
Included in this rental is the special fuel pressure test gauge needed to test the fuel system on the 787 RFI. A copy of test instructions will also be included.

SEA DOO PLIERS PKG.
Included in this rental is the three pliers used for most all Sea Doo repairs. They include the Caillau (295000054), Oetiker 1090 (295000069), and Oetiker 1099 (295000070).

SEA DOO 140MM PUMP REBUILD PKG.
Included in this rental is the special tools needed to disassemble and reassemble a 140mm pump (most all Sea Doo exc. 947 models). Included is a splined impeller tool, impeller shaft holder, impeller shaft guide, bearing remover and bearing/seal installer. A copy of instructions will also be included.

DRIVELINE ALIGNMENT TOOL
The rental tools consist of the alignment plates (140mm/155mm), the alignment shaft and adapter (if required). Note there is one shaft for all models with the exception of HX and one shaft for HX. If you want both shafts in the rental, you would need to add $100 to the rental deposit and shipping would have to be adjusted.
Also sent will be engine shims (8ea. of thick ones / 8 ea. of thin). They cost $2 each and when you return un-used ones, cost of total used (if any) will be deducted from the deposit.
If needed, also included are a copy of alignment procedures for your model of Sea Doo which you can keep.

SEA DOO LEAKDOWN TEST KIT
Included in this rental is the total leakdown kit to test for leaks on an assembled 2 stroke shortblock. The kit works with 717 / 787 / 787RFI /947 / 947DI models. Included is the 295500352 leak test kit along with the 295500780 supplementary kit. Included is intake, exhaust, and other various blockoff plates as well as the test pump. A copy of test instructions will also be included.

BOMBARDIER IGNITION TESTER (295000008)
Included in this rental is the special ignition tester that checks the stator output on the older model sea doos. Also included would be the special harness adapter (if needed).
You’ll need to let me know what model/year so I make sure it will work for you and send the proper components!

Included in this rental is the special puller and pusher used to remove/install the rotary valve shaft on 587/657/717 Rotax. Also included is the degree wheel so you can get the RV reinstalled properly. A copy of removal instructions will also be included.
