NOTE I’VE RECENTLY CHANGED THIS PAGE AND THE DUAL KITS FOR 587/657/717/787 ARE NOW MODEL SPECIFIC SO SEE THE INFO BELOW TO CHOOSE WHICH THIS ONE FITS YOUR SEA DOO!
I’ve seen many different people selling individual packages that don’t include all the parts needed for a complete and proper rebuild of one or both Mikuni carburetors on single or dual carb equipped Sea Doo 2 stroke Rotax, therefore I put the packages below together to help with that project. The package I offer features OEM Mikuni parts instead of aftermarket since if you’re going to all the work of rebuilding those, you want the best! You’ll also note that for the newer 717/787 powered models (1997 up) I offer the hard to find Accelerator Pump Diaphragm as well and you rarely see that one available. Also down at the bottom of the page I have Performance Kits for 717 and 787 skis so check those out as well. If you’re considering redoing your carbs, give my complete packages some serious thought!

If you’ve previously bought one of these kits or are considering one, you might have noted that as of 7/15/2008 I changed the parts included in the kits and pricing. I did that since Mikuni is raising their prices and I felt offering some components in the dual kits that don’t actually wear out was a waste. Therefore I was able to drop the price you paid instead of increasing the cost. If you need those parts I omitted, they’re still available though and offered as options below.
Note also if you’re outside the US I can ship my kit to you in a USPS Express Flat Rate envelope with insurance for usually around $25 so getting one of my kits to you shouldn’t break the bank!

Mikuni Popoff & Pump Tester
This tool is a must have for tuning any pwc or jetboat that uses Mikuni SBN carburetors! Since I’ve found these can be expensive from Mikuni, I’ve decided to build and offer this heavy duty more economical unit. It’s built with new non corrosive all brass fittings, new high quality gauge (0-30psi or 0-60psi), and the pump is an inexpensive bicycle type so if it fails, they’re easy to replace. This unit can be used for pressure testing and properly setting Mikuni popoff and also works well for checking your Sea Doo jet pump after an oil change to make sure the seal and o-ring are ok.
Setting popoff correctly is an important step when rebuilding any Mikuni SBN Carburetor and helps avoid problems once out on the water. For testing popoff, this specs page and this tuning page should provide all the info needed. For testing your pump, you apply some pipe sealant to the threads then install the adapter in the cone fill opening. Then connect the pumps hose and pressurize to 5 psi. If it holds for a minute without dropping, your pump is ok.

Complete Performance Dual Carb Rebuild Package #1

This kit works with any 717 Carb Sea Doo including SPX, XP, HX, GTI, Sportster, and Speedster. It includes all the important parts needed for a rebuild of both Mikuni carburetors for modified 717 Rotax applications (aftermarket airbox, pipe, etc.) to help with getting more fuel to your engine. Some stock carbs (models listed below) have 1.2 needle valves so this kit features 1.5 ones. Also included are 65gr, 80gr, 95gr, and 115gr needle valve springs for proper tuning. That should be all you need for an aftermarket flame arrestor but if you’ve added an aftermarket pipe and/or changed compression you may also need an increase in main jet size. If so, I also stock most low and high jet sizes for $4/pair so let me know what ones you need and I’ll include in the kit. Note though I’m no expert on tuning modified engines so if you have questions about what you need, first check the PWC Today Forum or similar help boards.
The package offered in this sale features OEM Mikuni parts instead of cheap aftermarket parts. Why use OEM instead of cheap alternatives? Mainly, the OEM Mikuni diaphragm that operates the needle valve is manufactured to a much better tolerance than aftermarket so pop off is easier to set and more consistent. The included gaskets, diaphragms and other soft parts are of a much better quality than aftermarket as well. If you’re going to all the work of rebuilding a Mikuni, you want the best! If you’re redoing your carbs, give this complete package some serious thought!
