Aftermarket MPEM for Sea Doo PWC

If you’ve come to the conclusion that you need an MPEM (Ignition Module) for your older Sea Doo and have priced the OEM units, you probably have found they are expensive! I do have an alternate option in an aftermarket unit that’s a direct replacement. I’ve sold several and they seem to work well. If you find one that looks right, click the email link for the one you’re interested in and I’ll send purchase details. If you don’t see it listed, you’ll probably have to go with OEM.

One note about these units… they work great and are a bargain but the only drawback I see is they don’t have waterproof fuse covers like the oem units. That wouldn’t really pose a problem for the first two below that are normally in the grey waterproof box, but the third aftermarket unit could pose a problem since it’s exposed in the hull of your ski. If considering the third unit, I would consider attempting to silicone something over the fuses or put the mpem in a bag before bolting on to keep water out of those.

Finally, note that normally you would need to have your dess lanyard programmed to an oem mpem but these units will work with any dess lanyard so no programming is needed! Don’t spread that around the marina though!!

This one should have a 6550 RPM rev limiter setting.
The mpem could also replace oem Sea Doo 278000423 / 278000822 / 278001025 / 278001134 mpems if you don’t mind a 6550 limit instead of the 7000 RPM setting the oem one had. If you’re using an aftermarket rev limiter, there’s no problem at all using this one in any listed.
